Concern:
Discovery Sport (LC) 2015 & 2016MY & Range Rover Evoque (LV) 2014MY onwards
fitted with 9HP48 9-Speed Automatic Transmission: retailers reporting these vehicles
are flagging the following (TCM) Transmission control module DTC’s P2545-86
and/or P2546-86 codes during SDD DTC read or on customer concern
Should there be other transmission related fault codes in addition these other codes
should be investigated and resolved before proceeding with this instruction.
Issue:
Transmission control module (TCM’s) are been replaced under warranty and on
investigation on returned parts have found with no fault found
Action:
Any retailer seeing this DTC P2545-86 and/or P2546-86 firstly check the transmission
for any oil leaks and repair as required if no oil leaks are evident check the oil level, and
repair as required then Update the TCM software where an update is available, then
clear the DTC and if the DTC does not re-log no further action required return to
customer
If the DTC is repeatable then provide the original session file and the latest session file
showing the DTC detail and raise a Fixed Right Enhanced Diagnostics (FRED) for
transmission replacement approval
