Tech Line Summary Article April 2017 ATS 161201 Version 2 Reduced Engine Power; MIL On with DTC P0369 AFFECTED VEHICLES 2016−17 Pilot and 2017 Ridgeline EDITOR’S NOTE: This article replaces the one posted in December 2016 to extend the article’s shelf life. The issue(s) covered are still being addressed. We’re getting reports of reduced engine power with the MIL on. Service techs are seeing DTC P0369 (CMP sensor circuit intermittent interruption) and signs of excessive camshaft end play. From our investigation, we’ve found that the camshaft thrust cover surface roughness is out of spec. To reduce end play, some techs are replacing the camshaft thrust cover. But eventually, the camshaft will just machine the thrust cover again, resulting in further excessive end play. For now, replace the affected camshaft and camshaft thrust cover together, along with the damaged CMP sensor. Also, be sure to check for damage to the camshaft pulley. If it’s damaged, replace it. © 2017 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved Page 1 of 1
