the same importance of a Technical Service Bulletin. An SSM is a quick method of
communicating "Need To Know" information to the technical service community. SSM's may
be issued in advance of a technical bulletin or may be the only communication on a given
topic. All information contained in Land Rover technical communications are intended for
use by trained, professional technicians with the knowledge, tools, and equipment required
to complete the procedure correctly and safely. It informs the Technicians of conditions that
may occur on some vehicles, or provides information that could assist in correct vehicle and
diagnostic service.

Content : ISSUE:
When using the InControl Touch map updater to
activate a Secure Digital (SD) card there is not an
onscreen message to confirm the activation has been
completed successfully.
CAUSE:
A new version of the InControl Touch map updater was
released in SDD 142.03.
When using the new version for the first time it may
not display a confirmation message advising the
activation of the SD card has been successful.
ACTION:
When using the new version for the first time, insert
the SD card, select ‘Activate’ and wait for the ‘Home’
screen to be displayed. On the left side of the screen,
check the ‘Start Date’ and VIN number have been
populated, this will confirm the card has been activated
successfully.
After the new version has been used for this first
activation, all further SD card activations will display an
onscreen message to confirm that the card has been
activated successfully.
Note: This concern will be corrected in an update to the
InControl Touch map updater.
