Situation: The tailgate interior trim panel may become detached from the tailgate during closing.
Cause: This may be caused by the clips not being fully engaged during assembly.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction below.

2Remove the tailgate trim panel, (see TOPix Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and Ornamentation).

NOTE: the three tailgate clips must be centralized and pushed
fully onto the tailgate.
Install the three new tailgate trim panel clips to the tailgate.

4Remove and discard the two plastic nut inserts.

Sinstall the two new plastic nut inserts.

NOTE: the tailgate trim panel clips must be installed into the
tailgate in the order shown.

Install the tailgate trim panel, (see TOPix Workshop Manual section 50105: Interior Trim and Ornamentation).
