Roof Moulding Loose/ Adrift

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The roof moulding may be loose/ adrift.
Cause: This may be caused by a failed bonding process between the roof moulding stud and the roof moulding.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction below.

NOTE: remove only the roof moulding that is loose/adrift.
Remove the loose/adrift roof moulding (see TOPix Workshop Manual, section 501-08: Exterior Trim and Ornamentation - Roof
Moulding).
2& .cAUTION: do not damage the surrounding paintwork.
Using a suitable tool, remove the 12 roof moulding studs.
3Using a suitable degreaser, clean the area shown.

4Start at the
windshield
(1) and
move
towards the
rear of the
roof panel
(2) and use
a suitable
marker to
mark the
roof
channel in
the
positions
indicated.

cAUTION: do not apply excessive amounts of the bonding glue.

NOTE: make sure the bonding glue is applied to the center of the
roof channel at each marking .
Apply the bonding glue to the areas previously marked in step 4.

CAUTION:
a
minimum
of 24
hours is
required
for the
bonding
glue to
cure
before
installing
the roof
moulding.

NOTE:
make sure
the new
roof studs
are
applied in
the center
of the roof
channel.
Install the
new roof
moulding
studs in the
positions
previously
applied
with
bonding
glue in
Step 5.

70nly if required: paint the new roof moulding to the vehicle color.
8Install the roof moulding (see TOPix Workshop Manual, section 501-08: Exterior Trim and Ornamentation - Roof Moulding).
