'Knock' Noise From Front Shock Absorber

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: A 'knock' noise may be evident from the front shock absorber(s) when driving on uneven roads or speed
bumps.
Cause: This may be caused by anti-dust cover on the front shock absorber becoming adri~ and moving against the
shock absorber body.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction below.

1. Remove the front left wheel and tire (see TOPix workshop Manual section 204-04: Wheels and Tires - Wheel and
Tire).
2. Identify the area of the vehicle to be worked on.
3. Move aside the front shock absorber cover.

4. Move the front shock absorber dust cap upwards.

5. Clean the area shown.

6 . . &cAUTION: Make sure no glue touches the seal of the front shock absorber seal .
. & cAUTION: Do not apply excessive glue.
Apply the glue in the area shown.

7. Install the front shock absorber dust cap.
• Allow six hours for the glue to dry.
