2013-2016 Jetta, Golf, Passat, Beetle, Beetle Convertible 1.81 Tip for Removing Sticking/Stuck Ignition Coil Boots
For concerns of difficulty removing the ignition coil on the 1.8T engine, try the following:
Push the coil to the side, insert a standard air blow gun (pistol grip with variable flow such as Blue Point
YA 1050B) with a small rubber tip, squeeze trigger slowly and use just enough pressure to get the coil to
come loose without damaging the seal or the ignition coil.
