Condition
Some vehicles may have a DTC U0155, Lost Communication with Instrument Cluster,
stored in the Passenger Presence System (PPS) module.
There may or may not be other modules that have stored a U0155 DTC.
Correction
Important: If U0155 Lost Communication with
Instrument Cluster is only set as history and only stored
in the PPS module, disregard this DTC for the PPS
system.
There is a timing issue between the PPS and IPC when
the key is first turned on. The timing issue will correct
itself and the DTC will be stored as history. DO NOT
REPLACE ANY MODULE if PPS is the only module
that has set this DTC.
If any other module has set the U0155 Lost
Communication with Instrument Cluster, there may be a
valid concern with the IPC communication. Follow the
proper U-Code diagnostic procedure for the module
that reports the U0155.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
