Bulletin No.: PIT4575D Date: Mar-2016 Subject: 2 MODE HYBRID Vehicle Stalls When Shifted Out Of Park Models: 2009-2013 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid 2008-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrid 2009-2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Hybrid All with Two-Mode Hybrid System (RPO HP2) This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIT4575C. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern Some customers may state that the vehicle stalls after shifting out of park quickly after a key crank. Recommendation/Instructions The 2-Mode Hybrid requires a certain amount of engine run time (1-2 seconds) from initial key crank before moving the gear shift indicator out of park. Some customers may experience a stall condition that results from an immediate shift out of park prior to the engine reaching full operating RPM. If such a condition occurs, the transmission selector should be placed back in Park and the key should be cycled off. The engine can then be restarted, and after waiting approximately 1-2 seconds, a shift can be made without interruption of further engine operation. This is a normal condition and no parts should be replaced to try and resolve this concern. Additional SI Keywords 2 2Mode start stop two-mode Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information. WE SUPPORT VOLUNTARY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION 1
