Confirm excess snow or sleet accumulation under the cowl louver panel. Is there excess snow or sleet accumulation under the cowl louver panel? YES — Continue to step 2. NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual. 2. Remove the LH front wiper arm head cap by disengaging the three claws. Figure 1. Claw 3. Remove the nut, windshield wiper arm, and LH blade assembly. HINT Use the same procedure for the LH side. 5. Remove the RH windshield wiper arm and blade assembly. HINT Use the same procedure for the LH side. 6. Remove the LH front fender upper protector. Figure 3. A. Remove the clip. B. Disengage the three clips to remove the front LH fender upper protector. Clip 7. Remove the RH front fender upper protector. Remove the Cowl Top Ventilator Louver Sub-assembly. Figure 4. A. Disengage the six claws and guide. Claw Guide B. Disengage the nine guides to remove and discard the OLD Cowl Top Ventilator Louver Sub-assembly. Figure 5. Figure 6. A. Engage the nine guides to install the Cowl Top Ventilator Louver Sub-assembly. Guide B. Engage the guide and six claws. Figure 7. Claw Guide 2. Install the LH front fender upper protector. Figure 8. A. Engage the three clips to install the LH front fender upper protector. B. Install the clip. Install the RH front fender upper protector. HINT Use the same procedure for the LH side. 4. Install the windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies. A. When reusing the windshield wiper arm and blade assembly: Figure 9. (1) Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove ANY burrs, dirt, etc. 1 NOTICE Do NOT grind down the wiper arm serrations. (2) Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush. Install the windshield wiper arm and LH blade assembly to the matchmark position with the nut as shown. Figure 10. Torque: 22 N*m (224 kgf*cm, 16 ft*lbf) HINT 1 Hold the windshield wiper arm and LH blade assembly by hand while tightening the nut. 1 C. Install the windshield wiper arm and RH blade assembly to the matchmark position with the nut as shown. Matchmark Figure 11. Torque: 22 N*m (224 kgf*cm, 16 ft*lbf) 1 HINT Hold the windshield wiper arm and RH blade assembly by hand while tightening the nut. 1 Matchmark D. Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and there is no interference with the vehicle body. E. Check the automatic stop (Park) position after lifting the wiper blades two times. 5. Engage the three claws to install the LH front wiper arm head cap.
