Reason for update: To update the Parts List. Model: Ford 2015-2017 Explorer 2015-2016 F-150 Issue: Some 2015-2017 Explorer and 2015-2016 F-150 vehicles, equipped with 3.5L Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) engines may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P2195, P2197, P2626 and/or P2629 stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory. Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. Connect the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent scan tool to the data link connector (DLC). Check for DTCs. Is DTC P2195, P2197, P2626 and/or P2629 stored in the PCM memory? (1). Yes - replace the affected heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-14. • DTC P2195/P2626 - bank 1 sensor 1 HO2S (Right Side) • DTC P2197/P2629 - bank 2 sensor 1 HO2S (Left Side) (2). No - this article does not apply.
