This notice applies to your vehicle:
Warranty Extension: 2007–09 MDX and 2010 ZDX Front and Rear Active Damper
Dear
On some 2007–13 MDX and 2010–12 ZDX vehicles located in cold areas, the front and rear active
dampers may leak. While leaks on the rear active suspension are visible, the front active dampers are
mounted in an inverted position and the leak is not visible on the exterior of the damper. If an excessive
amount of damper oil has leaked, the active dampers may make a clunk or a bang sound when driving
on rough roads or over speed bumps.
To ensure your confidence in our product, Acura is extending the warranty of the front active dampers to
May 8, 2017, or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty extension provides coverage for the
current owner and any subsequent owners. No action is required on your part unless you
experience a problem. The warranty extension is valid except for any vehicle that has ever been
declared a total loss or sold for salvage by a financial institution or insurer, or has a branded, or similar
title under any state's law.
What should you do?
If there is any noise from the front or rear suspension area, contact any authorized Acura dealer for an
appointment to have your vehicle inspected. If the noise is caused by one or more leaking active
dampers, the dealer will repair your vehicle free of charge. Please plan to leave your vehicle at the dealer
for one full day to allow them flexibility in scheduling.
Lessor Information
Please forward a copy of this notice to the lessee.
What to do if you feel this notice is in error
Our records show that you are the current owner or lessee of a 2007-09 MDX or a 2010 ZDX involved in
this warranty extension. If this is not the case, or the name/address information is not correct, please fill
out and return the enclosed, postage-paid Information Change Card. We will then update our records.
