'Rattle' Noise From Glovebox Area / Loose BCM Cover

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: A 'rattle' noise may be evident from the glovebox area. Upon further inspection, checking the glovebox
results in no fault found.
Cause: This may be caused by the Body Control Module (BCM) cover in the front passenger footwell which can become
loose and generate unwanted noise.
Action: Should a Customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
1. Open the front right door.
2. Remove the Body Control Module (BCM) cover from the passenger footwell.

3. Visually inspect the position of the wiring harness as it may be positioned over the floor carpet as illustrated.
• If the wiring harness is not positioned over the floor carpet, go to Step 5.
• If the wiring harness is positioned over the floor carpet, go to Step 4.

4. Position the wiring harness behind the floor carpet as illustrated.

5. Install the BCM cover in the passenger footwell.
6. Visually check that there is no gap between the BCM cover and the floor carpet and that it is securely installed.

7. Close the front right door.
