GROUP NUMBER BODY ELECTRICAL Technical Service Bulletin DATE 17-BE-001 MODEL(S) JANUARY 2017 SUBJECT: EQUUS (VI) DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT Description: On certain Equus vehicles the Blue Link remote services for door lock/unlock function is inoperative. The user is not able to lock or unlock the vehicle using Blue Link App or web portal. This bulletin provides the procedure to replace the DDM (Driver Door Module) and ADM (Assisted Door Module) to correct the condition. Remove 2 screws and one locking tab: A A. Screw at the door handle. B. Screw in the door pocket handle. B C C. Locking tab in the door jam. See next page for more details. TSB #: 17-BE-001 Page 2 of 6 SUBJECT: DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT 1A. Use a small flathead screwdriver, carefully pry and remove the door handle cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver, and remove the screw. 1B. Use a small flathead screwdriver, lift and remove the door pocket cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver, and remove the screw. 1C. Use a small and short Phillips screwdriver, remove the plastic screw and then pull the locking tab out. TSB #: 17-BE-001 Page 3 of 6 SUBJECT: 2. DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT Use a panel removal tool to remove the top trim cover. Start with the top left corner. Separate the top trim cover, disconnect the tweeter connector, and remove it from the door panel. 3. To remove the door panel, gently pull the door trim cover away from the door frame. Start with the top right hand corner. After pulling the door panel away from its frame, disconnect the two wire harness connectors and the door lock/unlock mechanism. TSB #: 17-BE-001 Page 4 of 6 SUBJECT: 4. DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT Place the door panel on a clean surface. Disconnect the DDM connectors. 5. Use a Phillips screwdriver and remove the 11 screws as shown on the right. 6. Separate the top half of the door panel from the bottom half and remove the DDM. TSB #: 17-BE-001 Page 5 of 6 SUBJECT: 7. DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT Use a Phillips screwdriver and remove the DDM mounting screws. 8. Replace the DDM with the correct countermeasure part. 9. Install all removed parts in reverse order of removal. NOTICE Ensure the door lock tab is in the unlock position when reinstalling the door lock/unlock mechanism. 10. Repeat procedures 1-8 for the passenger door to replace the ADM. 11. Confirm all the door switches operates normally. Confirm all Blue Link remote services (remote start, door lock/unlock, and etc.) are functioning normally. TSB #: 17-BE-001 Page 6 of 6
