The purpose of this Product Upgrade bulletin is to inform REV dealers of the
process to inspect for the presence of an air inlet screen and to remove the
rubber portion of a drain valve (“duck bill”) on certain model year 2016-2017
American Coach products. A list of affected unit serial numbers appears at
the end of this Bulletin.

Follow the steps below to inspect the air inlet screen and remove the “Duck
Bill” drain valve. Instructions for American Eagle or American Heritage
products appear directly below; see Page 2 for instructions for American
Dream, American Allegiance or American Tradition products.
INSPECTION AND REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS FOR AMERICAN EAGLE OR
AMERICAN HERITAGE PRODUCTS ONLY:
1.
If the motorhome has been parked outside for a period of time, or in
wet weather, DO NOT start the engine.
2. Ensure the PARK brake is set and wheels are blocked to prevent
movement. Maintain control of keys while work is performed.
3. Place a ladder at left side of the rear cap. Look under the wing on the
roof to ensure there is a screen covering the opening of the air inlet
chamber.

If the screen is present, proceed to the next step.
b.
If the screen is missing, order a screen (REV p/n 10001566) and
install.

Open the rear motor access door and look directly up
into the center of the opening at the top. See Figure1.
Locate the access panel with 1 ½” opening in it. Insert
a pair of needle nose pliers up approx. 1” inside the
opening in the access panel. Grasp the rubber portion
of the “duck bill” with the pliers and pull down to remove
it from its mounting plate. This completes the procedure.

the left side at the top of the cap to ensure there is a
screen covering the opening of the air inlet chamber.

If the screen is missing, obtain a new screen
(REV p/n 100001507) and install it, then

proceed to Step 2.
Open the rear motor access door and look directly to the left of the center of the opening.
Locate the air intake chamber that runs from top of the rear cap to the bottom of the
motor access opening. You will find the “duck bill” drain valve at the very bottom of the
air intake chamber is a. See Figure 3. Using a pair of pliers, grasp the rubber portion of
the duck bill and pull it off of the mounting plate. This completes the procedure.
