Classification: Reference: Date: EC17-010 ITB17-010 February 21, 2017 2016-2017 QX80; MIL ON WITH P0090 AND U1000 AND/OR U1001 STORED APPLIED VEHICLE: 2016-2017 QX80 (Z62) APPLIED VIN AND DATE: Built before: JN8AZ2NF(*)H9 640202 / September 5, 2016 2WD JN8AZ2ND(*)H9 830063 / September 5, 2016 JN8AZ2NC(*)H9 430122 / September 5, 2016 4WD JN8AZ2NE(*)H9 150456 / September 5, 2016 IF YOU CONFIRM MIL is ON with the following DTC stored: P0090 (FRP CONTROL SYSTEM) And U1000 and/or U1001 DTCs are stored in one or more other control units. NOTE: If P0090 is set and U1000 and/or U1001 DTCs are not set, this Bulletin does not apply. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnostic information. ACTION Replace the IPDM with one listed in the Parts Information. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Infiniti retailer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/3 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Turn the ignition ON, engine OFF. 2. Record (write down) any customer settings that will be lost when the battery is disconnected. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), section GI – General Information / ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL, for a listing of systems that may lose settings or memory when disconnecting the 12V battery. This list often includes items such as HVAC, power windows, clock, etc. 3. Turn the ignition OFF. 4. Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle 12V battery. Refer to the ESM, section, PG-Power Supply, Ground & Circuit Elements, for procedure to disconnect the 12V battery. 5. Replace the IPDM with one listed in the Parts Information. Refer to the ESM, section PCS – Power Control System, for IPDM replacement information. 6. Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly. 7. Reconnect the 12V battery. 8. Reset/reinitialize systems as needed. 9 Refer to the ESM, section GI – General Information / ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL, for a listing of systems that require reset/initialization after reconnecting the 12 V battery. Look in the GI section index for ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL. This list often includes items such as HVAC, power windows, clock, ADP, etc. Clear any stored DTCs. 2/3 ITB17-010 PARTS INFORMATION DESCRIPTION PART NUMBER QUANTITY IPDM 284B6-5ZM0C 1 CLAIMS INFORMATION DESCRIPTION PFP OP CODE SYM DIA FRT Replace IPDM (1) RD21AA HD 32 (2) (1) Reference the Parts Information Table and use the IPDM Part Number as the PFP.
