Tip:
To avoid engine damage when working on the valvetrain, both camshafts must be locked in place according to
the repair manual, see repair group 15 in Elsa.
Scenario 1: Valve timing incorrect
 If one or more of the above faults are stored in the engine control unit, check the valve timing according to the
repair manual, see repair group 15 in Elsa.
 If the valve timing is incorrect, adjust it according to the repair manual.
 Replace sealing plug for cylinder head cover timing port.
Scenario 2: Valve timing correct
 If the valve timing is correct, replace the control valve in the camshaft adjuster according to the repair manual,
see repair group 15 in Elsa.
 Replace sealing plug for cylinder head cover timing port.
 Replace o-ring for camshaft adjustment valve -N205-.
Tip:
When changing the control valve, the engine should be held at TDC.
 Change the engine oil and filter.
