Bulletin No.: PIT5139C Date: Sep-2015 Subject: Diagnosing Suspension And Rear End Sway Models: 2008-2016 Buick Enclave 2009-2016 Chevrolet Traverse 2007-2016 GMC Acadia 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIT5139B. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern Some owners may comment while switching lanes at highway speeds there is a slight rear end sway feel. They could say it feels like driving in a cross-wind. Recommendation/Instructions Follow SI document for Symptoms - Suspension General Diagnosis. Follow SI document for Body Leans or Sways in Corners. Inspect the rear suspension components for signs of damage or looseness. Inspect the rear toe adjustment bar bushings with the suspension loaded (see picture below). Use a pry bar and apply forward and rearward pressure to the bushings at the spindle end. Also test at the frame end. Warranty Information The correction for this concern may be one of several repairs described above. For vehicles repaired under warranty, please use the appropriate warranty 1 labor operation based on the actual cause and repair. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
