As the driving mode changes, the transmission may downshift, the engine Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) may also increase, and/or the 'Auto Stop/Start OFF' warning indicator may illuminate on the Instrument Cluster (IC). CAUSE: This may be caused by a Chassis Control Module (CHCM) software error. ACTION: Should a customer express this concern, follow the appropriate Diagnostic Procedure below. Always refer to JLR claims submission system to obtain the latest repair time. ◾ The JLR Claims Submission System requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero. DESCRIPTION Chassis Control Module (CHCM) Software update SRO 64.90.05 TIME (HOURS) 0.2 CONDITION CODE 42 CAUSAL PART LR105419 NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply. DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE 'A': SDD This Diagnostic Procedure is only for vehicles requiring the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool with Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD). CAUTIONS: ◾ A Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis / module programming. ◾ All ignition ON/OFF requests must be carried out. Failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle. 1 Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery. 2 NOTE: https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/860719 12/12/2017 Page 5 of 7 The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool must be loaded with SDD151.05 Software Management Pack v283 (or later). Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle and begin a new session. 3 Follow all on-screen instructions, allowing the diagnostic tool to read the VIN, identify the vehicle, and initiating the data collect sequence. 4 If the hyperlink is not available: 1 Select Diagnosis from the Session Type screen. 2 Select the Selected Symptoms tab. 3 Select one of the following symptoms: Chassis - Ride and handling optimization - Terrain response 4 Select continue. 5 Select the Recommendations tab. 6 Select Run to perform the 'Configure existing module - Chassis control module' option. 5 Follow all on-screen instructions until the application completes successfully. 1 When prompted, select the Clear DTCs option following completion of the software download. 2 6 7 When all tasks are complete, go to the next Step. Exit the current session. 1 Select the Session tab. 2 Select the Close Session option. Disconnect the diagnostic tool and battery power supply from the vehicle. https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/860719 12/12/2017 Page 6 of 7 DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE 'B': PATHFINDER This Diagnostic Procedure is only for vehicles requiring the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool with PATHFINDER. CAUTIONS: ◾ A Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis / module programming. ◾ All ignition ON/OFF requests must be carried out. Failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle. 1 Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery. 2 NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool must be loaded with PATHFINDER version 121 (or later). Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle and begin a new session. 3 NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool will read the correct Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for the current vehicle and automatically take the vehicle out of Transit mode if required. Follow all on-screen instructions. 4 Select ECU Diagnostics. https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/860719 12/12/2017 Page 7 of 7 5 Select Chassis Control Module [CHCM]. 6 Select Update ECU. 1 Follow all on-screen instructions until the application completes successfully. 2 Vehicles without Dynamic Response: when all tasks are complete, go to Step 9. 3 7 Vehicles with Dynamic Response: when all tasks are complete, go to Step 7. NOTE: Vehicles with Dynamic Response only. Select Chassis Control Module 'B' [CHCMB]. Select 'Update ECU'. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task. 8 9 10 Select Update ECU. 1 Follow all on-screen instructions until the application completes successfully. 2 When all tasks are complete, go to the next Step. Exit the current session. 1 If required, reset the vehicle to Transit mode. 2 Select the Exit icon.
