Turbocharger Replacement and Waste-Gate Clip
When replacing a turbocharger on a 2.0L CCTA or CBFA engine, a new waste-gate clip must be installed on the
turbocharger before the turbocharger is installed into the vehicle.
Technical Background
When replacing a turbocharger for any failure, the replacement turbocharger does not come with a waste-gate
clip (06J 145 220A).
This clip must be installed before installation of the turbocharger into the vehicle. Installation of a turbocharger
without this waste-gate clip could eventually lead to wear at the actuator arm/waste-gate arm pivot, causing
premature failure.
Note:
If the original turbocharger has a waste-gate clip installed, DO NOT reuse this clip.
