PROCEDURE
DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine. Prior to working on the
vehicle, set the ignition switch and the rear start switch to the OFF position.
On Commuter type vehicles, set the battery master switch (master cut-out) to
the OFF position.
1. Locate the vehicle AHI RV-3 valve (on the vehicle frame in the curb side engine compartment).

2. Remove the valve from the frame (bolts only, do not disconnect the air hoses at this point).
NOTE
On H3 Series vehicles equipped with an optional
auxiliary waste tank (as shown), it may be necessary
to raise the vehicle and access the RV-3 valve from
under the vehicle (or remove the top tank).
3. Inspect the valve (and air connection) to make sure that it is in good condition and not leaking. Order
a new valve as required (part # 21243502).
4. Make sure the valve will reach its new location on the fuel line support bracket next to the engine (see
image below).
RV-3 VALVE MOVED TO FUEL LINE SUPPORT BRACKET (RETARDER OPTION SHOWN)
- On most vehicles using a transmission retarder (Allison transmission), both air hoses will have to be
replaced with longer ones (use supplied 503402 nylon tubing).
- On vehicles not equipped with an Allison Transmission or with an Allison transmission without
retarder, the air hose coming from the accessory tank may be reused but will need to be shortened.

DANGER
High air pressure! If hoses need to be disconnected,
drain the accessory air tank first. The accessory air tank
is provided with a drain valve located in the front compartment below the front junction box (see image).
5. Position the shorter section of the supplied valve support #140082 on the fuel line support bracket
making sure one of the valve support holes lines-up with the fuel line support pre-drilled hole.
-
Mark the position of the second hole with a sharpie or a sharp tipped tool.
-
Drill a pilot hole in the support in the middle of the mark using a small diameter drill bit.
-
Enlarge the pilot hole to its final dimension (6mm).
-
Also enlarge the hole that was originally pre-drilled in the support to 6mm.
-
Secure the 140082 valve support using the supplied 502830 (short) screws and 5001857 nuts.

6. Secure the RV-3 valve to the support with the supply line connection facing up. Use the supplied
502843 (long) screws and 5001857 nuts. If the original air hoses are reused, make sure they are
routed properly so they do not hang or contact sharp edges.
RV-3 VALVE INSTALLED – NEW LOCATION
7. If longer hoses are required (do not try to stretch or over extend hoses), use the supplied length of
503402 nylon tubing and cut new hoses to length as needed. Reconnect all hoses at their original
location and secure using cable ties so they do not hang or contact sharp edges.
8. Set the rear start switch and the ignition switch to the ON position and start the vehicle. If the supply
hose has been disconnected, wait for the accessory air tank to fill up. Check for leaks and proper
operation of the RV-3 valve.
PARTS / WASTE DISPOSAL
