Service
When replacing a 09G AQ250 Gen III gearbox for any reason, the oil cooler must not be removed from the
transmission. A new oil cooler with mounting hardware must be ordered with the replacement gearbox. Not
replacing the ATF oil cooler can cause failure of the new transmission and lead to contamination of the old
transmission, due to the oil cooler being removed.
Note:
DO NOT remove the ATF oil cooler from the transmission at any time unless absolutely necessary for
diagnosis. Once diagnosis is complete, and if the transmission is to be replaced, the cooler must be
reinstalled to ensure the transmission internals are sealed from outside debris.
