Introduction
Some 2016 model year Prius vehicles may exhibit a condition where there is a buzzing noise from
the LH side under the dash while driving (see Figure 1).
The pin that secures the center section of the HVAC duct together may be loose, making a buzzing
noise (see Figure 2).
Follow the Repair Procedure below to address this condition.

Repair Procedure
1. Verify that there is a buzzing noise from the LH side under the dash.
Is the noise present?

YES – Continue to step 2.

NO – This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.
2. Remove the Air Duct.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year
Repair Manual:

2016 Prius:
Steering – Steering Column – “Steering Column: Steering Column Assembly: Removal”
3. Install the NEW Air Duct.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

2016 Prius:

4. Confirm the condition has been addressed.
