Introduction
Some 2013 – 2016 model year Avalon and Avalon HV vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from
the base of the left front door trim during audio playback. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to
address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months
or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

Repair Procedure
1. Is the rattle heard from the left front door panel?

YES – Continue to step 2.

NO – This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.
2. Remove the left front door panel.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year

3. Disconnect the seat memory
harness connector.

4. Apply a 90 mm long adhesive backed foam to
the seat memory wiring harness beginning
35 mm from the rear edge of the connector.

5. Re-connect the seat memory harness connector. (Confirm connector connection via
push-pull method.)
6. Reinstall the left front door panel.
