Condition
Some customers may comment on a Reduced Steering Assist message on the DIC with
no loss of steering assist.
During diagnosis a technician may find DTC C0460 Sym 5A.
Cause
The condition is due to Steering Angle Sensor trim error.
Note: The calibration allows for an error to set without actual loss of assist.
Correction
Reprogram the Power Steering Control Module.
Service Procedure
If you encounter a vehicle with the above condition, use
TIS2Web, SPS reprogramming to update the Power
Steering Control Module with the latest calibration.
Refer to Power Steering Control Module Programming
and Setup in SI.
