Sporadic failures of the Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8).
Cause:
Various causes.
Remedy:
- Perform guided tests for relevant fault codes.
- Check all connectors on the head unit and central display.
- Check cable set (in particular in the low voltage differential signaling line and the telematics CAN lines) between the
COMAND (A40/3) /Audio20 (A2) and Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) control units for chafe marks or crush marks.
- Use XENTRY Diagnostics to check whether the software of the control units of the COMAND (A40/3) /Audio20 (A2)
and Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) is up to date.
