Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 10-07-29-001B. The 6-Speed manual transaxle (RPOs MF3, MR5, MR6, MZ0, MZ4, MZU) current service strategy for transmissions requiring internal repairs (ie: synchronizer, gear or bearing replacement) is to replace the unit as an assembly. These transmissions should not be disassembled at the dealer to determine root cause. For dealers required to contact the PQC for replacement authorization, please have replacement estimate including transmission assembly cost and labor prior to calling. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition.
