DTC P144C-00 is stored in the PCM, possibly in conjunction with other DTCs.
P144C-00 is set due to a delta greater than .16 in engine adaptation between
drive cycles so it is more of the effect of a fault than an indicator of root cause.
Evaluate any DTCs related to fuel/exhaust system first and smoke test the
intake and exhaust system. If leaks are found, repair and reset PCM adapts. If
the DTC P0191-85 is stored, complete primary and secondary diagnosis as
outlined in TOPIx. If no root cause of the DTC is identified, replace the fuel rail
pressure sensor and raise an EPQR and include contact information for
someone who can support PRR. If a claim is submitted for replacement of the
sensor with these DTCs and no EPQR is submitted, the claim will be
challenged.
