Non-Compliance Recall: Underhood Emission Label (Service Part)
Today, Acura is notifying dealers of a voluntary noncompliance recall for a small number of Acura vehicles due to an error
on the replacement (service part) underhood emissions labels. American Honda previously notified CARB and the EPA for
this action. Refer to your eResponsibility report or do a VIN inquiry to determine if any vehicles in your inventory are
affected.
Failure to repair a vehicle as needed prior to sale may subject your dealership to claims or lawsuits.
Basic Problem
A small number of replacement underhood emissions labels contained a misrepresentation of the vehicle emission
specifications. When these were installed on client’s vehicles, the vehicle became non-compliant with emissions
regulations.
Campaign and Repair Information
Acura mailed replacement labels and installation instructions to the registered owners with the notification letters. If a
client comes to your dealership and requests the label be replaced, replace the current under hood label with the one
provided in the mailing. Repair and warranty information can be found in service bulletin 18-034 Non-Compliance
Recall: Emission Label (Service Part).
Parts
Clients received the appropriate replacement label with their notification letter. However, if the client does not possess the
label or they were not the registered owner at the time of the mailing, please refer to service bulletin 18-034 for instructions on ordering an
additional label.

No special tools are needed for this repair procedure.
