Title
Volvo Chassis - Charging Lamp ( Battery Light, Alternator Light ) Illuminated (ON) In
The Instrument Cluster After The Cluster Is Replaced - US04 Emissions, Model Years
2005 to 2007
Cause
The low battery warning / charging light remains on after a replacement cluster has been
installed in a Volvo US04 chassis.
Solution
On a Volvo US04 Chassis that has had a replacement cluster just installed and the low
battery warning is being displayed, advise to confirm if there is a diode in the circuit
wire number " 14 " . This will be indicated by a bulge in the harness approximately 1
foot from the back of the cluster.from connector port " C " pin " 7 " wire number " 14 ".
This diode must be removed before the light will go off. Note: Some chassis have been
found to have the diode installed in circuit wire number " 14 " at the alternator end of
the circuit especially on VHD models.
