All Kia Parts & Service Managers
Kia Motors America, Inc. is extending the New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage, to all owners, for the headlamp
multi-function switch assembly on the 2014 MY Kia Soul vehicle from 5-years/60,000-miles to 15-years/unlimitedmiles, starting from the date of first service. The contact points in the multi-function switch may become worn and
could result in intermittent headlamp flickering.
If a customer has a concern regarding intermittent flickering of the headlamps, dealers should inspect the headlamp
multi-function switch and attempt to duplicate the concern. If duplicated, dealers should replace the multi-function
switch assembly with a new one according to TSB: ELE152 - “Multi-Function Switch Replacement for Headlamp
Flickering”, and verify proper operation of the headlamps.
Please note this is not a service campaign that requires mandatory repair for all eligible vehicles. Unless
the vehicle exhibits the headlamps flickering (indicating that the multi-function switch contact points are
worn) the headlamp multi-function switch assembly should not be replaced under this warranty
extension.
During the week of September 24, 2018, the Warranty Bulletin describing this warranty extension will be posted on
www.kdealer.com.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
Kia will notify owners advising them of the Warranty Extension Program starting September 21, 2018. Note that
owners who have incurred expense to remedy this issue prior to the date of this notice may have the opportunity to
obtain reimbursement for that expense, by mailing the Request for Reimbursement Form along with their
documentation to Kia for review and consideration.
LEGAL PRIVACY LIABILITY NOTICE: Pursuant to the terms of the Dealer Sales and Service Agreement and the
Gramm-Leach-Bliley federal consumer privacy act, you are required to keep confidential any and all information and
documents provided to you by Kia Motors America, Inc. or generated by you in the conduct of carrying out work under
that Agreement regarding Kia vehicle purchasers and owners, including but not limited to warranty claim information.
