TIN-18-00-007: MUT3-SE SCAN TOOL
SOFTWARE UPDATE VERSION SEW18061-00 —
All K-Line Models.
TIN-18-00-007 was released recently and
states:
“Mitsubishi will release the latest software
update for MUT3-SE: Version SEW18061-00
on 07/02/2018. Previously, MMNA released
TIN-18-00-006 to inform dealers that all
vehicles can be reprogrammed with
MUT3-SE. MMNA would like to inform dealers
that MUT3 diagnostic functions are now
integrated into MUT3-SE. Except for certain
vehicles and functions (please refer to NOTE
below), K-Line vehicles can now be diagnosed
with MUT3-SE.
NOTE: Refer to the following chart in the MDL to
identify what vehicles and functions are still
only available in MUT3.
“MUT3 and MUT3-SE Chart” on MDL, under
service / service tech resources / Service
Related Items / Worksheets, Questionnaires,
Job Aids / Job Aids.

5. No VIN will be populated. Please click on the
“Erase icon” shown below to erase vehicle
information that is displayed.
Also in the same location on the MDL is a “PQR
Usage Guide” which will help technicians
understand how to “Add a New” or “Search”
for previously submitted PQRs. The new
Search feature will enable technicians to
confirm the PQR status and provide an
opportunity to directly reply to comments or
questions posed by MMNA.
6. Click on the “Vehicle icon” shown below to
populate the VIN.
NOTE: Many times, Mitsubishi technicians are
the first to see product issues that MMNA
addresses throughout the year. It is critical
that communication between the dealer
technician and MMNA product support stays
current. The best way for information to get
to MMNA is through the dealer Product
Quality Reporting System or PQR. Please
keep in mind that you, the Mitsubishi
technician, are first to see these emerging
issues at your dealership and understand you
play a critical role in making the Mitsubishi
brand better.
7. The vehicle information will pop-up and
now, the vehicle systems can be accessed to
diagnose the vehicle.”
If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact your District Parts and
Service Manager.”

DEALER LETTER: STATE OF CALIFORNIA
PROPOSITION 65 WARNING LABEL — All
2018-19 Models (During PDI).
A Dealer Letter was recently sent to all
California dealers and states:
“The new California Proposition 65 safe
harbor language requires that by August 30,
2018, warnings for exposures to chemicals
that cause cancer and birth defects or other
reproductive harm that occur during the
operation, service, and maintenance of a
passenger vehicle must be provided.
One of these notices is:
a warning label attached to the driver's
door window
MMNA will be shipping an initial supply of
warning labels to all California dealers
beginning the week of August 20th.
Additional labels can be ordered through
normal parts channels – part number
PROP65WL (roll of 50 labels).
Beginning August 30, 2018, dealers must
install this label during Pre-Delivery
Inspection (PDI). Please see attached
instructions for proper placement of the label.
Failure to install the label at PDI may result in
partial or full chargeback of the PDI claim.
Labels do NOT need to be applied on vehicles
that have already been PDI’d.
Dealers will be automatically reimbursed
dealer net plus applicable mark-up for the
label cost – see Warranty Bulletin 2019-002
for additional details.
To ensure compliance with the requirements
of California Proposition 65, it critical that
these warning labels are properly installed
during PDI.
Please contact your District Parts and Service
Manager with any questions.

Eclipse Cross.
DTC P0171: FUEL SYSTEM LEAN — 2011 & newer
Outlander Sport/RVR.
When diagnosing a fuel system lean code,
ensure the quality of fuel and that excessive
levels of Ethanol are not present.
Also check for intake vacuum leaks at the
gaskets and connection points of the EGR
Pipe, EGR Pipe Gasket, and EGR Valve Support
(see illustration). Clean and repair parts as
appropriate to correct the source of the
vacuum leak.
TIN-18-32-002 was released recently and
states:
“An Engine ECU software update will be
available soon to address MFI DTCs P0068 and
P061A that have been improperly set. When
reprogramming the Engine ECU software to
resolve DTC P0068 or P061A, be sure to first
check the software part number as described
in TSB-18-13-001 and TSB-18-13-002.
If the Software Part Number listed is
1860D11603 or higher, then the software
update for P0068 and P061A has been
completed. There is no need to complete the
procedure in both TSBs, as software level
1860D11603 addresses both issues.”

TIN-18-23-003 was released recently and
states:
“For concerns of the brake warning light
coming on due to low brake fluid in the brake
fluid reservoir and brake fluid is found on the
front of the brake booster, DO NOT replace the
brake master cylinder.
“This TIN supersedes TIN-18-23-001 and
TIN-18-23-002 to state that the collection of
parts requested in those documents has been
completed.
MMNA recently released TIN-18-23-001 (for
Outlander) and TIN-18-23-002 (for Mirage
and Mirage G4) to collect complete
transmission cooler sets for an investigation
into the condition of coolant leaking from the
CVT hoses (examples of leakage below).
MMNA has now collected enough complete
sets of CVT fluid coolers with hoses and
clamps for a sufficient investigation.
MMNA would like to thank those dealers who
have assisted with this investigation and sent
the parts requested. It is much appreciated.
Going forward, if you encounter cases of
transmission fluid leaking from the CVT
hoses, please follow the normal diagnostic
and repair procedures for this condition.”

— 2015-16 Outlander Sport/RVR, 2016 Lancer,
2016 Outlander.
NOTE: This article is being republished to add
2016 Outlander Sport to affected vehicles.
If, during diagnosis, you suspect fluid seepage
from the area of the ABS hydraulic unit,
before replacing any parts please thoroughly
clean the fluid residue and inspect for
seepage at the six line fittings while the brake
pedal is applied. If seepage at a line fitting is
suspected, slightly loosen the fitting and then
re-torque the fitting to the specification
listed in the Service Manual. After properly
torquing the line fittings, recheck for seepage
with the brake pedal applied. Do not replace
the ABS hydraulic unit for a line fitting
concern unless recommended to do so by
TechLine.

start. The “CHARGING” indicator light on the
OEM Level 1 charger will be flashing green or
the “charging” indicator (if applicable) on the
Level 2 charger will be flashing. When
checking the vehicle further, no vehicle
warning lights come on after going into
READY mode and no DTCs are found.
4. Either press OFF or “Reset All” for Timed

This operation can also be
performed on the PHEV II App.
Note: Vehicle will charge on Level 3 quick
