SITUATION
Customer reports rattling or humming noise coming from the rear area of the vehicle at engine
speed range between 1,200-1,500 rpm.
CAUSE
Interference between the fuel line quick connector and the side wall of a fuel tank.
CORRECTION
Isolate the fuel line’s quick connector with a piece of insulation foam.
PROCEDURE
For conditions that are similar to the situation described:
1. Locate the fuel line’s quick disconnect connector.
• General location of the fuel line quick connector:
passenger side, behind the fuel tank wall.

2. Place a piece of the insulation foam between the
fuel line connector and the wall of the fuel tank.
3. Duplicate reported conditions and verify
effectiveness.
