SITUATION
Check Control Message “Transmission overheating warning” is displayed.
One or more of the following fault codes are stored in the transmission control unit (EGS):

4209A1 - Temperature sensors: Hot operation 1 with possible adaptation of shift program

4209A2 - Temperature sensors: Hot operation 2 with torque reduction

4209A3 - Temperature sensors: Hot operation
CAUSE
A faulty transmission oil cooler thermostat.
CORRECTION
Replace the transmission oil cooler thermostat.
