WASHER FLUID LEAKS FROM THE HEADLIGHT
WASHER JETS
MODEL
F25 (X3) Produced up to March 31, 2015
SITUATION
Washer fluid leaks from the headlight cleaning washer jets.
CAUSE
Calcification buildup causes washer fluid to leak out of the headlight cleaning washer jets.
CORRECTION
Replace the windshield washer reservoir, filler channel and washer jets. Flush the system.
PROCEDURE
1. Replace the washer fluid reservoir (including the filler pipe) as per ISTA/AIR repair
instructions “6171061 Replacing washer fluid reservoir for windscreen washer system”.
2. Remove both headlight washer nozzles per ISTA/AIR repair instructions. Do NOT install the
replacement ones yet:
a. “6167122 Removing and installing/renewing right high-pressure nozzle of headlight
cleaning system”
b. “6167120 Removing and installing/replacing left high-pressure nozzle of headlight
cleaning system”.
3. Fill the washer reservoir with about ½ gallon of water until it empties out completely.
4. Install both headlight washer nozzles per ISTA/AIR repair instructions:
a. “6167122 Removing and installing/renewing right high-pressure nozzle of headlight
cleaning system”
b. “6167120 Removing and installing/replacing left high-pressure nozzle of headlight
cleaning system”.
5. Refill the system with washer cleaning fluid (5 liter capacity). Test the functionality of the
headlight cleaning system and ensure that the nozzles do not leak.
