Page 1 of 1 SI B12 10 15 Engine Electrical Systems January 2015 Technical Service SUBJECT N63: CBS Oil Service Conversion in ISTA/P MODEL F01 (7 Series Sedan) F02 (7 Series Sedan LWB) Produced to approximately 9/2009 F04 (ActiveHybrid 7) Produced to approximately 3/2012 F10 (5 Series Sedan) Produced to approximately 9/2010 E70 (X5) E71 (X6) E72 (ActiveHybrid X6) Produced to 10/2010 All with the N63 engine SITUATION The CBS oil service conversion being performed for the N63 Customer Car Package and timing chain check (SI B11 16 14) does not work correctly. It does not change the interval to the desired 12 months/10,000 miles for the vehicles listed above in the specified production ranges. The “Conversion, oil service 12months/15,000km/10,000 miles” is working properly for all other N63 vehicles produced after these dates. CAUSE Incorrect coding data in the current ISTA/P version CORRECTION The conversion will be corrected with ISTA/P 3.55.1, which is currently planned for release in early March 2015. After validation of the ISTA/P solution, more information will be provided on how to address the customers affected by this situation. WARRANTY INFORMATION Not applicable.
