This picture shows an incorrect
installation of the cable: the
cable might come in contact
with the partition wall.

If the installation of the cable is
incorrect, remove the retaining
nut and rotate the cable so the
cable bends away from the
partition wall, as shown in the
picture.

Reinstall the nut and torque to 8
Nm.
5. Grease the battery positive cable at the connection point on the partition wall.

Remove the acoustic engine
cover (if necessary, depending
on the engine). Then remove the
cover on the battery positive
terminal in the engine
compartment.

LABEL INSTRUCTIONS
This Service Action has been assigned code number
670. After the vehicle has been checked and/or
corrected, obtain a label (SD 92-431) and:
A. Emboss your BMW center warranty number in
the middle of the label (1);
B. Punch out code number 670 (2), printed on the
label; and
C. Affix the label to the B-pillar as shown.
If the vehicle already has a label from a previous Campaign, affix the new label next to the old one. Do not affix
one label on top of another one because a number from an underlying label could appear in the punched-out hole
of the new label.
