Changes are italicized and indicated by A. PURPOSE On certain vehicles, a MIL may illuminate with DTC P061A. When DTC P061A is detected, the vehicle goes into fail-safe mode and vehicle speed is restricted to a maximum of 25 mph (40 km/h). Depending on vehicle and/or driving conditions, DTC P1574, C1707, C121C, C1777, or C2339 may also be detected. During turbocharged driving, DTC P061A (Torque Monitoring) may set when the current monitor does not recognize turbocharged operation. New software is available that optimizes the Torque Monitoring to be able to recognize turbocharged operation. " This TSB instructs dealers to reprogram the engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU) with updated software to correct the issue for any affected vehicles that come in for service (with customer approval) and any in dealer inventory. NOTE: False detection is canceled by the engine ECU 10 seconds after the ignition is turn off. The vehicle is restored to normal condition the next time ignition is turned on. AFFECTED VEHICLES " Certain 2018-2019 Eclipse Cross vehicles, built on or before June 11, 2018. REQUIRED OPERATIONS 1. Confirm your MUT-III is updated with the latest reprogramming database. 2. Reprogram the ECU with the new software. Refer to the “ECU Reprogramming Chart” for new software information.
