The low beam flashes briefly after the ignition is switched ON. This situation can be duplicated every time the vehicle is started. 2. One of the faults below is stored and currently present: • 0xDA1411 - Signal (status of exterior light operation, 0x1AE) invalid, transmitter FRM / FEM / BDC • 0xD9D411 - Signal (status of exterior light operation, 0x1AE) invalid, transmitter FRM / FEM / BDC CAUSE Faulty LED main light module (LHM2) CORRECTION Replace both LED main light modules. PROCEDURE 1. Perform a vehicle test using ISTA/D. 2. If both faults mentioned above are stored and currently present in LHM2, proceed to the next step. If both faults are not currently present, follow the test plan recommendations. 3. Replace both LED main light modules. 4. In order to replace the LHM2 modules, the following work must be performed: • Remove the front bumper per ISTA REP 51 11 156, “Removing and installing front bumper panel." https://www.bmwtis.net/tiscode/cgi-bin/bulletin.aspx?sie_path=/tsb/bulletins/htm_store/16589.4.B63111... 12/24/2014 Page 2 of 3 • Remove the headlight assembly per ISTA REP 63 12 140, "Removing and installing (replacing) left / right headlight - LED technology." • Remove the LHM2 per ISTA REP 63 11 800, "Replacing left / right LED main light module left." 5. Program/encode with ISTA/P and select LHM2_R and LHM2_L as the control units replaced. Note: ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software. For information on programming and coding with ISTA/P, refer to CenterNet / Aftersales Portal / Service / Workshop Technology / Vehicle Programming. Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10). Defect Code: 63 11 01 02 00 Labor Operation: Labor Allowance: Description: Refer to KSD2 Performing “vehicle test” (with vehicle diagnosis system – checking faults) Refer to KSD2 Connect an approved battery charger/power supply (indicated in KSD2 as “Charging battery”) Refer to KSD2 Replacing both LED main light modules Refer to KSD2 Programming/encoding control unit (s) 00 00 006 and 61 21 528 and 63 11 810 and 61 00 730 Labor operation code 00 00 006 is a Main labor operation. If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 00 00 556 instead. Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance. Enter the Chassis Number, which consists of the last 7 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Click on the “Search” button, and then enter the applicable flat rate labor operation in the FR code field. Other Repairs If performing ISTA diagnostics and related test plans results in other eligible and covered work, claim this work with the applicable defect code and/or labor operations listed in KSD2.
