Introduction
Some 2016 model year Prius vehicles may exhibit a clicking noise from the support nuts on the
rear shocks. The assembly process has been improved to prevent this from reoccurring. Follow
the Repair Procedure below to address this condition.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in
this bulletin.

Repair Procedure
1. Drive the vehicle to confirm noise.
2. Replace ONLY the shock nuts. Do NOT replace the shock assembly when performing
this repair.
