DELIVERY STOP: N63 HEAT EXCHANGER

SITUATION
A Delivery Stop has been issued (effective November 16, 2018) on Model Year 2019 BMW 5 Series, 7 Series
and X5 SAV vehicles that have been produced between June 29, 2018 – September 10, 2018. The issue
involves the oil-to-water heat exchanger which can start to leak.
Approximately 285 vehicles are affected by this delivery stop.
• At the VDC: 32
• Dealer Inventory/Demos/Loaners: 156
• Retailed: 97
Affected vehicles show the campaign as “Open” when checked either in Warranty Vehicle Inquiry, AIR or ISPA
Next and identified with the description: STOP013493 Delivery Stop: N63 Heat Exchanger
All of the other systems including DAR and the RDR system will show the Stop Sale Sign starting tomorrow.
Please utilize the Inventory Campaign Details under ROSS which shows all vehicles that have a Stop Sale in
your inventory.
The bulletin will be updated with more information when it becomes available.

Please be reminded that it is a violation of Federal law for you to sell, lease or deliver
any vehicle covered by this notification until the delivery stop repair has been
performed. This means that centers may not legally deliver new motor vehicles to a
consumer until it is fixed or use/sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a delivery
stop. Note also that substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law.
Also, you should not sell, lease or deliver any Certified Pre-Owned or used vehicles
subject to a delivery stop until the repair is completed.
