 Noises from left or right front end when steering.
Workshop findings:
 The customer statement can be reproduced. The noises can be clearly assigned to the suspension strut
mounting.
 TSB 2044060: 40 Noises from front shock bellows when steering or when the front suspension is compressed
has already been checked/completed.
Technical Background
There is overlapping of axial deep-groove ball bearing and suspension strut mounting. Over time the overlapping
can cause noises.
Production Solution
100% check when axial deep-groove ball bearing and suspension strut mounting are assembled.

Tip: Axial deep-groove ball bearing and suspension strut mounting must always be replaced together. The
two components must always be replaced on both sides (right and left).

Replace the axial deep-groove ball bearing (Figure 1,
position 2) and the suspension strut mounting (Figure 1,
position 4) according to the Elsa Repair Manual.

2. Ensure the correct installation position
when assembling the suspension strut
mounting and the axial deep-groove
ball bearing. The bar of the axial deepgroove ball bearing must be central in
the groove of suspension strut
mounting (Figure 2).
