Subject: Addressing pre-existing MIL on before performing
the TDI Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) REVISED
Date: Dec 17, 2018
Dealers: U.S., Puerto Rico
This document conveys general
Warranty information.
Revised December 17, 2018 to remove reference to 2.0L vehicles.
As stated in the TDI Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) recall, dealers must check for pre-existing MIL
illumination before proceeding with the AEM on 3.0L TDI customer vehicles. Only create an Audi Technical
Assistance Center (TAC) ticket if required by applicable recall.
If the MIL is illuminated but the vehicle is no longer covered under warranty, the dealer must email
[email protected] to request approval to perform the repair. The email should include the
estimated repair costs and GFF diagnostic log. Requests to repair MIL issues on modified vehicles or to
bring a modified vehicle back to its original specification should not be submitted.
Based on the assessment of the repair, a decision will be made to either “approve” or “decline” the request.
For “approved” Campaign Authorization Requests, a claim may be submitted in SAGA using the claim
