AFFECTED VEHICLES
The majority of the affected vehicles have already been supplied with the correct documentation through two (2)
prior actions.
This Service Action involves the remaining (as of January 15, 2019) 485 MY 2018:
• G01 (X3 xDrive30i); and
• G01 (X3 M40i)
Vehicles produced from 3/28/2018 to 4/17/2018
MY 2018 G01 (X3 xDrive30i and X3 M40i) vehicles produced on or after 4/18/2018 to the end of production
(EoP) are not affected.
Please see the Parts Information section for special instructions.
SITUATION
Due to a pick error, some 2018 model year G01 (X3) vehicles were shipped from plant 10 (Spartanburg SC)
with 2019 model year G01 (X3) New Vehicle Limited Warranty and Maintenance information booklets in error.

The MY 2019 X3 vehicles do not require any action.
While the MY 2018 New Vehicle Limited Warranty booklet also includes the X1, X2, X4, X5 and X6, model
vehicles, these vehicles are not affected by this action.
CORRECTION
When an affected vehicle arrives at your center with this campaign open, please swap out the incorrect
information with the correct MY 2018 information.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove, repurpose, discard or recycle the incorrect 2019 MY
New Vehicle Limited Warranty and Maintenance information
booklets from the vehicle.
2. Replace them with the correct 2018 MY New Vehicle Limited
Warranty and Maintenance information booklets (PN 01 00 2
288 434).
PARTS INFORMATION
The part number listed below is not contained in the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETK/EPC).
Only order this part in the quantities needed to address those customers’ vehicles that show this campaign
open.
Due to the small number affected MY 2018 X3 vehicles, it is not necessary to order and inventory large
quantities of the following part number at your center.
