TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN Date Of Issue YEAR/MODEL 11/2/18 2013-2017 Isuzu Reach Bulletin Number Service Campaign 1002 NO YES Title: Hybrid Transit front drive shaft lubrication Issue: The XL hybrid 130” wheel base Transit front drive shaft contains two double Carden universal joints. These joints contain a discreet flush mounted grease fitting that was not referenced in the XL owner’s manual. Greasing this fitting immediately, and then every 6000 miles (or regular service interval) is imperative for the longevity of the ball and socket joint. Typically a failure of this joint would be preceded by substantial noise or vibration. Driver feedback will be critical in early detection of a joint that is not properly lubricated. Applies To: All XL Hybrid 130” wheel base Transits. Safety: Normal safety precautions and PPE should be used. Special Tools Required: Needle grease fitting Parts Required: lithium complex soap type extreme pressure grease with an NLG1 grade2 NOTE: The information in Technical Service Bulletins is intended for use by trained, professional technicians with the knowledge, tools, and equipment to do the job properly and safely.
