Some technicians may not be using the correct water pump and water pump housing
replacement labor code and part when a repair is performed on a small gas engine family
of engines.

⇒ Some water pumps may have been replaced when the actual failure has
been found to be the water pump housing.
⇒ New water pumps are being returned to the Warranty Parts Center with the
old water pump housing installed.
This condition may be caused by the description used in the Electronic Parts
Catalog (EPC).

⇒ If the water pump requires replacement for a noise, leak or poor coolant flow.
Refer to Housing w/PMP in the EPC when ordering parts.
⇒ Use labor code 4032740 - Water Pump Housing Replacement.

Note: When ordering the water pump. A water pump housing comes pre-installed on the
water pump as an assembly.
⇒ If the water pump requires replacement for a crack or leak. Refer to Pump,
Wat in the EPC when ordering parts.
