Some customers may comment on reduced engine power.
Note: While operating for extended periods in very cold weather, the vehicle may
experience ice growth blocking the inside of the charge air cooler.
Condition
A technician may find DTC P0299 set or stored in history.
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above condition.
Engineering has a need to gather information on vehicles PRIOR to repair that may
exhibit this condition. As a result, this information will be used to "root cause" the
customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.

Correction
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, perform the following steps and contact the engineers listed
below with your findings.

Ambient temperature, precipitation conditions, and vehicle speeds preceding and during the P0299 / reduced
engine power event
Airbox filter element condition, photograph of any moisture present in box
Charge air cooler moisture content - thaw, drain, measure
Boost (TIAP) sensor contamination - remove, photograph (before thawing if possible), clean before reassembly
Driving conditions prior to the incidents:
– Brief daily driving description (distance, normal speed, highway / local, overnight parking indoor/outdoor)
