Complaint:
Fault message "SRS - Service Required" is displayed in the instrument cluster and the SRS lamp is active.

Production-related tool locating marks.
Cause:
The fault entry could have been caused by occasional transition resistance at contacts.
Remedy:
1. Disconnect (detach) the 104-pin coupling to the airbag control unit (N2/10, plug 1) then connect again.
2. Check the strain-relief clamp on the control unit contact, adapt to match specification, if necessary.
Please do not replace any parts.
Reoccurrence of the complaint:
If the fault occurs again, or if this is a reoccurrence of the same complaint, a PTSS case must be created and informative photos of the work performed (overview of the feed line to the airbag control unit) must be attached to the case.
Note:
Some vehicles may have marks on the insulation of the electrical line at the K/Z airbag module, which are production-related tool locating marks.
The locating marks have no influence on the functioning. (See attachment)
