** SOLUTION **
Title
Hood Insulation Separating From Hood; Additional Insulation Installation Instructions
Cause
Hood Insulation coming detached from the hood.
Solution
Installation instruction:
1. Buff the hood surface area that will contact the insulation pressure
sensitive adhesive (psa) with a clean rag. Wipe the surface thoroughly dry and
ensure there is no remaining residue.
2. Visually check the surface. If the surface has oil or grease then use a 50/50
mixture of isopropyl alcohol & water or 3M™ Prep Solvent-70 cleaner
to remove oils or grease.
3. Set the insulation in place on the hood.
4. Peel off the paper backing from the insulation and attach the insulation to
the back of the hood with the adhesive side facing the
hood. Apply enough pressure to ensure good surface contact within 10
minutes of removing the backing.
5. Using a roller, roll over the entire surface of the insulation, pushing
the roller firmly into the insulation. The insulation needs to experience
an approximate 15 psi (100 kpa) pressure to ensure proper adhesion to
the hood surface.
