• Recall 115810 [USA]: If the diaphragm is not completely attached, there may be internal leakage from the service section past the diaphragm, potentially trapping air pressure in the parking brake section. this air pressure in turn, if not vented, may prevent full release of the actuator unit, and may induce brake drag and may result in overheated wheelend service brakes, increasing the risk of a fire.
  Volvo trucks north america (volvo) is recalling certain model year 2015 and 2016 vnx and vnl trucks manufactured from may 20, 2014, through march 6, 2015, equipped with certain haldex life seal type 30/30 long stroke air brake actuators manufactured january 9, 2014, to october 28, 2014. The affected actuators may have an incomplete attachment of the internal rubber diaphragm to the actuation mechanism of the parking brake section of the life seal actuator.
  volvo will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake actuator and replace, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began march 20, 2015. Owners may contact volvo customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo's number for this recall is rvxx1501.

• Recall 105401 [USA]: An engine stall while driving increases the risk of a crash.
  Volvo trucks north america (volvo) is recalling certain model year 2015 vnl and vnx trucks manufactured january 7, 2014, to june 5, 2014, and equipped with a d16 engine. Due to the engine control unit having an incorrect parameter setting in the software, the engine may stall.

• Recall 2014388 [Canada]: Engine
  On certain model vehicles with a d16 engine, engine software parameters may have been incorrectly set at time of manufacture, which could cause the engine to stall. This would result in a loss of motive power and affect functioning of the power steering system as well as other safety systems. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will update vehicle software.

  During a review of volvo trucks (volvo) 2016, 4th quarter ewr field report submissions, odi discovered, multiple communications that had not been submitted to the agency under cfr 579.5 ewr reporting requirements.Also, during a review of the nova lfs transit bus (a subsidiary of the volvo group) recall 17v-323 odi became concerned volvo may not have acted with appropriate speed in making a defect determination and filing the recall with the agency.Based on a review of these issues with volvo, their compliance office agreed to conduct an internal audit of all required reporting and found the following:1.Various forms of communications including, service bulletins, tech tips, case base reasoning reports and other data were not submitted.2.Reporting of some death and injury reports (d&i) had been overlooked and not submittedthis investigation will examine whether volvo acted in conformance with its responsibilities under the safety act.
